The CIOB visit APS

The local Branch of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) took up an invitation to visit our works for a morning of informal discussion to learn more about the Natural Stone world and the overall procurement of natural stone, from the quarrying process through to the final fixing on site.
As with most of these tours/discussions, the day began with coffee and an introductory chat, followed by an open forum, which revolved around anecdotal experiences or upcoming real life queries on live projects. The morning loosely follows a series of bullet points which cover the most common issues that are generally overlooked when considering using Natural Stone and the service to deliver the most appropriate final choice.
A break was taken to tour the works and view the most up to date machining technology and craft skills, then the drawing office followed up by a buffet lunch.
Whilst not a registered Continuing Professional Development course, the morning provided a practical insight into the business and benefit of Natural Stone and the added value of using APS in delivery of the final product.
It was a very productive morning enabling us to learn more of the problems encountered by our clients and enabling them to understand and appreciate our processes.
